The college emblem clearly reflects the aim and vision of the founders .The aim and vision of the college is to provide empowerment to women through education. Smt Addepalli Vivekananda Devi the Founder Secretary was, a great educationist and social worker Sri Kroviddi Lingaraju, the Founder President a freedom fighter and a staunch congress worker lent a helping hand and the college became a reality.

Sri P.V.Narasimha Rao, the Education Minister of Andhra Pradesh and later PrimeMinister laid the foundation of the college on September 2 1968.Started with a handful of students, the college has grown in strength and stature from huts to pucca buildings. The college was admitted into grant-in-aid in1973.
